Finally, first damsel of 2012

Given the recent weather, didnt think I would get to see a damselfly in April, but the warm weather of yesterday, allowed me to pop over to Richmond Park. And I am glad I did as I spotted 2 or 3 large red damsels hiding amongst the bramble. These are a couple of photos I managed to get





Both taken with Canon 7D + 100mm IS lens, the first with the addition of extension tubes.

Seem to be starting to appear now, though how the past couple of days of downpour locally have helped, I'm not sure. Love the first shot.

As we've yet to reach double figure temperatures up here this year, I think it'll be a little longer!
