Fire photography

I took some and was a little bit of trial and error with regards to settings etc as the light from fire coupled with the darkness was interesting.

The patterns were great from fire but ended cutting and cropping from main pic to get a desired result. Also shot near the base of the fire as this was the most consistent pattern

How about a nice close-up or macro.

If you have an old barely working camera, set it alight whist it is taking pics, that would be intresting

seriously though, experiment with aperture size and shutter speeds, flash may help, but make sure it's dialed down so it doesn't wash out the colour of the flames

:)

Hope you had a good fire Dean. The only ones I have done(with an FZ28) I set it on A (aperture), set it somewhere steady and hoped for the best.

Here are a few

I tend to use a realatively slow shutter speed and the camera on a tripod, great for getting some good motion in the fire :)
