First portrait attempt with 50mm 1.8

Charlie, my 5 week old grandson was in a baby chair with a kind of carry hoop. Dangling from the hoop are some soft toys. I was trying to get Charlie's face as sharp as possible while trying to create an out of focus 'halo' around his face. This was hand held and sharpened a little in PS. Light was strong daylight from left.
