Beginner First shot of the year

First trip out this year thought I would go to Shingle Street on the Suffolk coast and try and get some moody shots, not sure if I should push the editing a bit more

Nice straightforward composition. I would brighten the water as it looks kind of murky but that might detract from the brightness of the houses. Maybe worth trying

I pretty much agree with Ian that there's room for a boost in this one. Perhaps more strangely, I'm wondering if a right/left flip would work better as the water would then seem to flow into the photo from the left, since that is the way we read? I know that wouldn't be an accurate representation of the scene, but just a thought.

It is striking just what an effect that can have (especially weird with portraits)
