Critique Flower lit by laser pointer

Hi all, been a member a while but never posted.
This is a shot of a flower in the dark lit by shining a laser pointer inside of it. I was pleasantly surprised with the result.

Was it a white laser you used? And can you say a bit more about the type/strength/spec/cost/source of the laser.

If they are reasonably cheap I might invest in one.

It was a standard red laser, the flower itself was a cream colour. The laser pointer I used was a 1mW laser pointer from ebay which cost £2-3.

Chris, 7dayshop sell a very reasonable laser pointer/torch/touchscreen stylus (£4.99) - I bought the cat one for xmas! Not played with it as a photographic light, although I have used one as a focus aid.

Like the concept and execution, thanks for the idea!
