I use a trail camera in the back garden most nights and it often records up to three foxes.

The tapetum in eyes of two of the foxes reflects the light from the camera in the usual way and give the well known 'glowing eyes' seen in many animals at night.

The eyes of the other fox do not reflect the light and I assume it does not have a tapetum in its eyes, which if I'm right might affect its sight as the tapetum reflects the incoming light and assists the vision.

Has anyone else seen foxes with eyes that don't reflect?

Dave
