Great portrait, one thing I would edit is the little circles in the background... it was the first thing I noticed.

I did plan on creating some bokeh in the background but due to the limitations of our front room I couldn't move the subject any further away from the background.

My only gripe is that you cut off his paw but that pose is a cracker

He's a lovely dog, I have a boxer myself who doesn't ever stop looking bored of having her photo taken.

Nice focus, DOF and lighting, if you had aimed a tiny bit more to the left you would have got his paw in and got rid of some of the dead space on the right which may have improved the shot.
