I've been contemplating getting this for some time now. Actually, ever since it was launched and I thought, now that's the lens I ought to use for landscape.
Kept putting the whole idea off, couldn't justify the price to myself; but in the end I gave up to gear-lust and posted a "wanted" in the faint hope of finding a used copy from someone who doesn't want his / hers' :shrug:, but no such luck on that.
So, two days ago I ordered one from my local store .. pestered them every day about its' expected arrival. Today, happily it was delivered to me.
I just got home, unpacked it and will start to do some reading before I head off to bed. I guess there's a slight learning curve on this lens

I don't want to sound at all negative, but I am disappointing with the case. For the price, I would have thought at least something as good / bad as what comes with the 24-70 AF-S :shrug:. What I got is the flimsy soft case
. I guess I'll just have to order something more rugged for it.
