Great Parents (Tree Sparrows)

We counted around 30 juvenile Tree Sparrows in front of the Gazebo hide this morning, which is absolutely fantastic, and bodes well for the future of this gorgeous native bird at the reserve.

There is a nest box on the front of the hide, and the two adult birds never once stopped returning to the nest to feed their youngsters, which would be their second brood.

Cheers Kaz, really encouraging numbers of youngsters about.

The two adults alternated between insects and seed, obviously starting to wean the chicks onto what will be their staple diet.

Thanks ... Male and Female look alike, however I think my two shots are of the same bird (they were taken at different times).
