I'm using the 600mm lens quite a lot through the window to take shots of these small birds, on these cold dark days.

The 600mm seems to have it's own style of rendering at this distance ….. which I quite like, especially if you soften the image a little

Great Tit - I am also noticing that the black head etc., can be a little softer, almost moving towards a slight blue tinge, (or maybe just the light?), on some birds as they move into winter

AFAIK - This is Parus major major, (the main continental Europe nominate sub species), the UK sub species is P.m. newtoni ………. is considered a different sub species, although I'm not sure of the differences
