The highlights are blown out but apart from that it's a nice shot of a fly's eye.
 
Nice one Paul, loads of detail there. What magnification did you use? I've heard lots of stories about diffraction at higher mags at f16.
 
That is a stunning shot aid an extremely ugly creature !

Wow stunning. I wish I had a lens like that but Nikon don't make one as far as I know.

Which is why i dont shoot Nikon anymore :(

Thanks - I think it must have been around 4:1 - i think the FF sensor can cope with higher apertures than a cropper - this was an effective aperture of approx f80 :eek: - its not something i tend to worry about - I've enough on trying to get the focal plane in the right place
