Critique Helensburgh Resevoir and Ponds: D800 first outing.

I recently treated myself to a D800 and Ziess 21mm.

1. Normal exposure, Lee 2.5 stop ND soft grad

2. 25secs Lee little stopper and Lee 2.5stop ND soft grad

3. Lee 3 stop hard

4. 2.5secs ISO 100 Lee 3 stop ND grad

5. Works best as a portrait. Bit later in the day

6. Failed light, ISO160 30 secs Lee 3 stop grad over the sky to prevent blow out. Curves recovery of the hills.

It's quite a machine, can't wait to get out again with it.

See the small bin in 5, in high res you can make out the no dog poop label on it.

Its manual focus, and its refreshing to use. I am probably barely scratching what the camera can do, but the lens at F11 is really sharp (at least as sharp, probably more so, than the 24-70 F2.8 I have on the D610) and its such a pleasure to use.

That thread laid waste to a lot of my time at work yesterday.

I've never stitched a photo in my life. For the prints I sell on my webshop, I don't need to, but its an intriguing area I will play around in one day for sure.

I learned that the hard way, went to Llandwalin Island for a sunset and it was not an Island, the tide came in and it most certainly was. Cue a night outside...LOL

Mate, its a facking beast, I am processing some shots at Loch Lomond, Lochan n h-Achlaise and Buchaille Etive Mor just now, the quality of the glass and resolution of the sensor is unreal.
