Help me !!

I am new here and need some help!
In the near future I am planning to visit Gigrin farm , to photograph the Red Kites.

I'm new to photography and have a Canon 500d with 75-300mm lens. I was wondering if this lens is going to be good enough to take decent pictures of the birds.

With a 300mm lens you will be close enough. The birds come pretty close, and you'll be amazed at how close they are.
