I know this is not a good shot technically. Taken with 24-120 f4 so not much range. Was walking along Shanklin cliff top and this bird came and did a lap of the bay! Totally surprised.

The shutter speed could have done with being a bit slower as you've frozen the props but other than that it's a decent enough shot in my eyes. (y)
 
A nice catch Nick. I doubt that you had time to think about shutter speeds, but for future reference, to get decent prop circles on the Herc, aim for 1/125sec.
Not as easy as it sounds sometimes. :D

to say that you was totally surprised,you managed to capture it well..Im 50/50 when it comes to blades..as a kid i used to capture planes overhead and always wanted to stop the blade turning in mid flight but now as a photographer with a few years experience we know a blurred blade shot is good..nice one Speedy136
 
You could always put a bit of motion blur in if you have p/shop, cracking shot by the way.
