Heron Shots

I finally got a couple of shots of the local heron.
My lens don't shoot too far so don't be too critical.

First is a peach-damn difficult shots , so you have done well.

Second I'd turn down the blues a smidgen, it's dominating the image.

what lens did you use?? theyre excellent shots and being closer to the wildlife is in every case better than a long lens! so long as it doesnt know/mind you being there that is

I used a nikon 55-200 lens on a D40x.

Here I have messed with the background. Is it improved or worse ?
