Hitech filters too big for Cokin holder

My hitech filters are a little on the large side, not by a lot (only a couple of mm), I can squeeze them in, but they don't slide in as easy as the Cokins. I'm wondering what's the best way to trim off a couple of mm from the Hitechs. I'm thinking of maybe sanding the sides down on a sanding block, but if anyone can think of a better way, please let me know.
 
What size and which cokin holder? Just curious.
 
My Hitech soft grads were tight in the Cokin P holder. Not by much, but enough to make changing a little stiff. I can't recall which holder I swapped the Cokin one for but it was a better fit. If it's the same issue I'll try and find out what the holder is for you.
