To be 100% honest I really couldn't give any tips as there isn't anything in particular I actually do.

i firstly use iphoto and fiddle with exposures and contrasts then on to lightroom doing similar then to photoshop to add watermarks and the fake flares etc etc
 
Nice set, first photo the fuel pipe sort of distracts from the car for me, really like the 3rd
