Saw this bird in Mull in May this year, I have an idea for its ID but am not confident. I wont mention my thoughts yet, but hope one of you kind experts will be able to ID it for me please. I have a feeling that I should know this bird, and will kick myself when I find out what it is. Not a great shot, it was taken at some distance on a 600mm and has been heavily cropped.

Thanks for looking (y)

If I had seen this bird at long distance I would probably have simular thoughts to yourself at first, but the bill is not right ;)

Thanks a lot for your help, it's appreciated. The breasts colour threw me for a wheatear, and yes Mike, the bill and short tail made my first idea wrong, plus the time and location didn't tie up. Cheers guys [emoji106]

Your bird would definately make me look twice Trev, keep looking as they can turn up anywhere as I found out a couple of years ago
when I got two in a single day, one a Red the other an Isobelline Shrike or as some call them "Butcher Birds" due to their unsaviory
feeding habits.
