Ideas for last minute 1 week trip?

Next Saturday I was due to be going mountain biking in the Atlas mountains but I've bruised a disk in my spine and although I'm on the mend and can walk it seems unlikely it will be good enough to MTB in time for me to go

However, insurance will cover it and I have the time booked off work so if you had £1k, what would you do instead?

Currently my imagination can only get as far as flying to Hong Kong to visit my brother, but the thought of 12 hours on a flight with a bad back doesn't fill me with joy (and I usually like long haul flights).

Ideas please!
