Juvenile Great Horned Owl

The parents live across the street from my house, in some woods by a pond. They raise a brood every year. By now, they are pretty accustomed to me lurking about. This one wasn't too pleased with me getting close, so I took a few shots and withdrew quickly.

This is Odessa, the mom. She's not ruffled up because of me, but because a mob of crows were screaming at her.

Excellent detail, really bright clear eyes. There has been a shocking decline in the owl population in my neck of the woods over the last 18 months.

Hi Pat, the image looks a little dull on my screen … I'd try lifting the shadows and getting rid of a few of the branches so that it stands out more
