Everyone always says how fast Kikngfishers are, but sometimes they will pose for ages.
This little chap sat 7ft in front of me for over an hour.
It gave me the chance to play a bit with slow shutter speeds and compose a shot that needed no cropping.:)

1/15 sec f8 iso400 403mm. (Full frame)

May I be so bold and say that it could have been a fledgling from this year! If its sitting around doing nothing for an hour, I wonder how much longer he'll be around. Great shot though
 
So sharp for 1/15sec, how do you do it! Great shot.

Up there with your best...and they are outstanding.

Being boring I love the primary colour thing going off here.

Even more boring.......how the hell did he stick around for an hour with you "fiddling about" with settings etc and the sound of the shutter going off.

Thanks Keith.
I sit in the hide making noises all the time to get them used to odd sounds. So the sound of the shutter is just another mad noise from the bush in front of them.:wacky:
