Here are a few shots of a Kingfisher that I saw today.

Photos were taken in St. Albans by the lake. These were taken on a Canon 7D with a 100-400mm lens.

No7 is un-cropped taken at 400mm.

Thanks for looking:)

A good set Callum, not sure about yourself but there is something about #2 which makes it my fave from the bunch even though it does not have the fish.

Thanks for the comments. I like number 2 best as the face is lit quite well.

Very impressive, I've taken Kingfisher photos before and never got anywhere near as good as these!

Great set , I favour all , well done ,you must have been well close

A cracking set; am particularly envious as I was in St Albans yesterday and saw the self same bird (I guess there are not too many hanging around the Waffle House and park!) and I didn't have my camera. Were you the guy with the massive lens? This was also the first time I have ever seen a Kingfisher; I could have watched him for hours had I not have had children who were desperate to go to the park.

No.1 is my favourite - a classic shot - but I like them all - great colours and dof.

Good work fella!

Thanks for all the comments everyone.

@Spooks, could well have been me. Short fat bloke with a canon 7d and a 100-400mm lens with a camo covering. I will be heading back up there again soon as these are the first Kingfishers I have found with no fear of humans :)
