Went up to Stokenchurch this morning full of anticipation unfortunately the light just wasn't there :shake:

As you say Paul, pretty much doomed unless the light is good, preferably nice deep blue skies. You have managed to get a bit of detail from the underside of the wings in the second shot though. Just got to keep on keeping on(y)

Would these have been taken with a Bigma by any chance?

practice, practice and practice and hope for that good light.
 
Yep good light is a must or forget it :bang: No 2 not too bad with detail of the under wing.

Just pick a sunny day or even a sunny evening when the light is setting and you should get some good shots. (y)
 
way better then my full afternoon of shooting marsh harriers. seen a hundred of em, shot a hundred but didnt nail their eyes as good as yours.... granted they kept their distance and was shooting with the 70-200 :shrug:
 
Should have called in for a cuppa give me a shout next time (y)
 
Echo the others re the light, and the Bigma WILL deliver some cracking shots given the better conditions
