Evening techies....:help:

I'd just like someone to check out the spec of the item in the link and confirm it's the thing I need to do fullfill the requirement below.

I've got two desktop PC's, both of which are running a dual monitor output (DVI and VGA per PC). I also have two 8 port powered USB hubs for connections to the various peripherals....printers, keyboards, tablet, card reader, USB drives, scanner, wireless dongle, memory sticks etc.

Will one of these allow me to simply switch between use of the two systems without cable swapping. One PC is running XP and the other is a dual boot XP or Vista machine.

Thanks in anticiation of any help or advice.

Whenever I've looked for a specialist piece of kit I have tended to contact Black Box
Here's the link

Although they are networking specialists they do supply KVM kit, and more to the point there is generally someone to talk to. Maybe a conversation or email may help

Unless things have changed over the last few years, they accept individual orders via credit card.

bit overkill, innit?

I think you're on the right track for what you need. But don't try and cure all the problems with this one piece of kit. A couple of tips;
Buy individual wifi dongles for each pc, otherwise it'll take too long disconnecting and reconnecting if you're switching back and forth.
Try and connect the printer directly to both pc's (easy with networking)... same reason as previous. The scanner only really needs to be connected to one pc
So you should just need your KVM for the monitors, keyboard, mouse, audio & tablet

I'll have a replan and see what's possible. BTW, the Wifi is only to keep the AV signatures updated and any Windows updates required....neither is a "surfing" machine.

Thanks for the replies guys...food for thought in several areas.
