I really need to learn more about insect ID. Can anyone recommend a good website? All the ones I've found seem very complicated. Thanks

No3 - you've missed the focal point ( Eyes)

Thanks very much Les. Yeah, focus is a little off on 3, but it's still so much better than I used to get ;) I'm going to have to start getting more critical.

Oh, and I just ordered an insect ID book.
 
I have no idea on insect ID as my Flickr account clearly shows :shrug:

Just received my ID book. Amazing as I only ordered it yesterday!

As far as I can tell nos. 1 and 3 are Chrysopa Perla. No. 2 is Chrysoperla Carnea.

I'm new to this so very happy to be corrected.
 
The first one is pin sharp and they are lacewings, took a couple myself just a few days ago.
