Not having a good day. I've just completely smashed my kit 18-55mm lens for my 550D. I'm going away for a long weekend to west Wales and I'll only have my nifty fifty and 70-200L 2.8. Anyone have nice landscape shots without using a wide angle lens? If so let's see them:) I need some inspiration.

On the upside I have an excuse to upgrade now and it's going to challenge my skills (or lack of) for composition and a nice shot.

150mm on micro four thirds (equivalent on APS-C would be 200mm)

Cheers. Loads of great shots. I'm leaving soon for the 10+hours drive. I know West Wales has some nice stuff to shoot but hopefully the weather picks up a bit for a good play around.

Here are a couple using a Pentax 55 1.8 Super Takumar on a Sony a700

160mm on a 1.6 crop body so 256mm

This was taken overlooking Keswick in the Lake District, I spent ages taking small details out of a very wide vista.

An old one I took with the D90 + 80-200 2.8:mad:200mm - we were quite a bit away from the mountain at the time. Pulled it in nicely.

This has actually turned into a very nice image thread :) Some beaut's above

Loads of nice shots in this thread. I forgot I started this lol. I enjoyed my time in West Wales and it was even more fun being restricted to not having a wide angle lens for landscapes. Made me think more about what I had to do to get the shot I wanted. Granted I didn't get every shot I wanted though. The weather didn't exactly play ball but it did give me a chance to try some nice moody pictures in B+W. I'll get my pictures up later on or tomorrow.
