As you can see, the sky was drab and we were in a backyard with fences in the background, that was why I didn't back away from the subject more. The background just wasn't very ideal.

A great set of photographs. How close are you to the insect with the 15mm focal length? I would think it would be very difficult to fill the frame without spooking the subject.

wide angle's do get you close to the subject, and it remains true for macro.

Very close! At 1:1, the subject would be 4.7mm away from the front of the lens. I tend to use this only slightly bigger models for now but I plan to use it on smaller subject at night.

Right. This is the first 1:1 wide angle macro lens.

Looking good - I wonder how much use it would get in the real world?

Not all the time but when you find the right model and the right background/environment, you'll wish you have this iens in your bag!
