looking for UK site with large domes, radars, parabolic receivers etc

Jodrell Bank Observatory, Lower Withington, Cheshire
Mullard Radio Astronomy Observatory, Lord's Bridge, Cambridgeshire
RAF Flyingdales, Snod Hill, North Yorkshire
RAF Stenigot, Stenigot, nr Donington on Bain, Lincolnshire
RAF Menwith Hill, nr Harrogate, North Yorkshire
Goonhilly Satellite Earth Station, Goonhilly Downs, nr Helston, Cornwall
GCHQ Bude, nr Coombe, Bude, Cornwall

1 mile telescope and the abandoned ones in Cambridgeshire (could be mullard)

Menwith Hill has lots of golf balls
Fylingdales phased array is probably not what you really want
Jodrell Bank is easily accessible
Stenigot Ace High dishes are quite photogenic but done to death by 'urbex' people over the past five years.
Various concrete 'sound mirrors'
Several sites down in Cornwall but a fair treck from Scotland!

Maybe if you explained more about what your looking for people could be more specific?

Thanks for your input, some new additions there.

Yes the flyingdales one possibly isn't as interesting as some of the others.

In general I'm looking for some of this style of feature to use for time lapse sequences with the night sky as a backdrop.

The sound mirrors and Cornwall ones could well be suitable so if you have any more info, great.

Thanks. Not sure about the Leadhills to be honest, I don't recall ever hearing anything about these, do you have anything more specific on the location?

You have just jogged my memory about a site on the Solway coast, I'll have to check it out. Thanks.
 
I have just come back from Cornwall and there are two I know of, Goonhilly down on the Lizard, it is run by BT and does not look like it is open to the public anymore. A second is GCHQ just north of Bude in the north of the county on the coast.
