I am trying something different: shooting birds
in somewhat difficult light conditions…

What do you think?

I hesitate to comment on your photos because you are far more experienced than me but I do like what you are trying here and for me #4 is the pick, I think #1 would be great if the duck was facing the light. in 2 & 3 it is a bit of a shame about the second duck behind the subject. It's good to see something different and I like the sense of action.

I don't think so! (though I know what you mean, Chris!)
I've been exploring these "crazy light situations" since
some ten days now, so I'm just as new as you may be.
I do like… — …would be great if…
That's just the way to do it, Chris, I am exploring some
ways of communication and you are reacting. Brilliant.

This study may give ideas to others as well as make me
forget all about it… but for the time, I'm having a darn ball
at tricking the light meter! :)

Yeah, right! I still have a hard time making wildlife obey me
when it comes to what, when and where I would need it! :ROFLMAO:

#1 would have done better if the head and eye area were opened up a wee bit just a kiss so that you can get an idea.

2 &3 appear to me as folded together - difficult to separate the ducks from the water.

#4, I like to sense of action. Perfect.

Just my humble, Daniel.

I truly like them all. These are just what my first impressions. And what I see on my monitor.
