Lilac and Gold

As this seems to be a popular topic, Goldfinches among various Spring blossoms, this is my effort.

Not really a bird photographer, so can't crit more than to say I like it, nice backlighting.

Nice shot Dougie - Although the lilac on the right hand side is nice it unbalances the pic IMO, I would probably have gone for a 4 x 3 crop with the bird more central as it is looking directly at you. If the bird had been looking slightly to the right hand side then the crop would have been fine. The only other slight nit is the fact that the birds eyes are not visible but that is difficult when it is looking straight at you. These are just my personal observations so I suspect other folk will see it differently.
All in in all a very nice shot.

Lovely shot, I agree that the in focus lilac could be lost without unbalancing your composition.

He does look splendid with the bright light and acid green of the spring leaves

Nice shot, I agree a different crop would probably improve things.
