Critique Little Egret in Low Light

I came across this Little Egret whilst driving so I took a shot through a open window (having stopped safely) as it was overcast and raining lightly

Nikon D500 with 500PF + 1.4TC 1/1000 @ f8 700mm auto ISO 1100 set from my last outing

This is not cropped and I have tried to lift the shadows and adjust the exposure to bring out the detail.

I wish I had time to remove the TC and adjust settings to say 1/500 and keep ISO lower but it flew off after 2 shots !!!

Good spot Steve, nice to get so close. ISO 1100 is nothing to a modern camera, I'd shoot at that ISO to get a faster shutter speed every day of the week. In fact, I'd have probably pushed the ISO even higher to ensure I got a sharp shot!

Perhaps portrait view to include the feet! That would be my biggest criticism
