I went over to Liverpool today to see the Chinese New Year celebrations with a selection of kit. Along with a Canon EOS30 35mm film SLR I also had my Nex5 and iPhone5 to shoot a variety of shots (whilst often having my daughter on my shoulders, which is always a challenge!)

As well as the actual New Year celebrations, I grabbed these on the way home;

1) Liverpool One - Sony Nex5, 18-55 kit lens handheld

2) "No Way Out" - Liverpool James Street station, IPhone5 edited on the phone in Snapseed

Thanks, yes it's the old side of an underground station in Liverpool. I know what you mean about HDR in a scene like this but as I shot it on my phone and edited it while I was on the train I preferred to go more gritty/dark. The noise is just a by-product of shooting a near dark scene without flash on my phone so I was happy leaving it as it was in return for better sharpness.

There is a light vignette added as well as some shadow restoration and obviously the colour toning.
