My eyes keep wandering round the image looking at the clouds. A tighter crop may work better?

Works very well for me, great sky and good detail, the only thing I would change would be the odd bits to the left and right bottom edge :)

Thanks for your comments. As the sky was so 'Big, I wanted to show the insignificance of the city below hence the position in the frame of the eye etc. Have I overdone it then?

Yes, sorry, too much sky ;)

Thanks Gramps. I did consider getting rid of those bits, so sounds like I made the wrong decision to keep them :D

Works for me I like it a lot .. Super cloudporn :D

I wonder if it would be stronger in black and white , with maybe some dodge and burn on that sky and a stronger contrast - as it stands its nice enough but its a bit too all one shade of grey

I'm also not sure the building on the far right adds much - may be a crop to put the eye against the right side of the frame

Thanks for the suggestion. Ill load it up again later and see how that looks

oh yes I like that - might crop about an inch off the top to take it to letter box format tho

oooh suits you sir

all you need to do now is shoot the same shot again with a 10 stopper so you get glass smooth water in the thames, and a motion blur on the eye

I got to say its a pleasure to see some good quality critique helping to develop and image with potential into a very nice photo indeed, B&W really was the way to go with this as its taken out some of the little distractions like the red maintenance platform thing at the base of the eye..

It's a crying shame about the party boat mooring barges on the river between St Tommy's and the Houses of Parliament, they're a real photographic carbuncle as without them you could have included a little more of the south bank which would have been nice...

The only thing I've spotted that I don't think has been raised is there are a few what looks like dust spots visible, it maybe that they're really distant birds or aircraft, as I can see one bird in the sky...and have lost a fresh doughnut to the gulls on the south bank before :sulk: but I'd clone them out as the might be dust spots so better to just avoid the possibility IMO
