Saw a few unusual things going on at Apley pond walk and some "normal" woodland bugs. I'll post the normal woodland bugs first plus my finger and I'll post up the unusual stuff tomorrow - I <think> the unusual stuff is that fungal infection attacking bugs,

Diffuser was two pringles tubes at a 35 degree turn,a bit of toilet paper held on with a pringles tube-top for some diffusion.

Canon 600d, sigma 105mm macro + raynox and cheapo neweer flash at 1/16th shot at F11 and 160th of a sec

Great set Carl I give you the finger lol...

I wonder if a cut up strainer plastic ones you get for cars for filling water up would work on end of pringles obviously you would have to line it with foil and and put a diffusion layer on it but would make the light source a tad larger that end of tube.

The last one of the ladybird larvae with a mite on its head is great.
 
All bleedin fantastic shots Carl. Really love the green spider against the green leaf.
 
These are great Carl, lovely and sharp. I love the spidey shots and the mite on ladybird is a nice find. Looking forward to your fungal shots (i think).

BTW I've asked a copper friend of mine to pass your fingerprint through their database. Just to make sure ;)
 
There are as many as 150 ridge characteristics in the average fingerprint & we have matched 120 from our records your nicked my son :LOL:
 
thanks everyone - will have a go at rotating that spider around on the green leaf, took the finger as I thought it might be/not be interesting, didnt know I'd have little "bumps" on the lines of the finger :)

Will have a go with the cup idea bryn :)

Was thinking something like this cut up and shoved on end of pringle tube to increase light source size.
