The shot of the baby mandrill lying on the floor is really cute.....biggest problem with South Lakes is that if you want a shot with natural background, you will not get it as most of it is a horrible clay mud!!!
However it's great for protraits as there is NEXT to nothing between you and the animals!
For madrills, no they are not but the only places where you are more likely to see them and get a good photo of them is South Lakes and Colchester.
Chester has a good island with dense foliage but that means getting a photo is alot harder coupled with the fact they love to stay indoors (and the indoor area is not natural) means your chances are slim.
Colchester is exaclty like this for mandrills....bare outdoor exhibit.
Best place to photograph is Woburn but they have drills not mandrills but they are in a mature woodland of atleast 2 acres in size.
I may have missed other places (but am just going on places I have visited).
