i was lucky yesterday that i was one of two togs in the hide on our local reserve when this female merlin landed to take respite from the high winds .it sat and posed for us for over a hour allowing some real close up photography as it sat above the entrance door ,it didn't even mind people entering and leaving the hide .i took advantage of its approachability and climbed a fence to get eye level shots .after a hour or more a large crowd had built up watching it and it finally moved to the other side of the roof .but what a lovely bird and what a experience and a lifer for me to

P.S no comments please about composition etc ,it was in a spot that allowed for no manoeuvrability ,and also shooting right into where the sun would be if it wasn't hidden by clouds .it is what it is !

thats the way to do it !! by blackfox wildlife and nature imaging, on Flickr
