Felt pretty lucky to be covering the Monaco Historique a week or so ago. For me it felt like a dream come true to get the chance to shoot F1 cars around the streets of the principality. Sharing a few shots here from what I'd probably rate as my favourite motorsport event, and best event as a photographer. Simply incredible, the proximity to the cars and assault on the senses, combined with the ridiculous location for a race track and gorgeous weather made for a pretty unforgettable experience.

Thanks for looking. I may add to the thread when I get a bit more chance to look through my shots for fun.

Great set, if ever you need a film loader….. :)

Great set of images.

Quite a beautiful set, love them all, but the Leclerc image is iconic and number 4 too.

I'd be happy with any though. (y)

I’m afraid it would only be battery loader in this digital age for me!

Great set of images.
Thank you, they were great fun to make

Thank you, it was a real treat to see Charles drive the 312b3 - he wasn’t holding back, just such a shame that his brakes went later that lap.

Good set. I know a couple of drivers who went. Sadly they didn't invite me :)
Thanks Andrew, seemed like relatively few British photographers from what I heard it’s been like in previous years. A great event if you get the chance, and you’ve not already been.

Great set. Love #4.
Thank you, 4 was a fun bit of playing around with some textures as the light was nice on the exit of rascasse

Cracking set of images, im heading to the slightly less exotic Brands Hatch at the weekend and hoping to try shooting some of the 80's F1 cars and 90's Endurance cars.

Don’t talk it down! I’m heading there too. Looks like it will be a brilliant weekend. Some cracking entries, GP loop, sunshine and warmth. It’s going to be superb.

I may have to tap you up for a few pointers!
Not been to an event for a few years and need to get some shooting practice in. Looking to go to Le Mans next year so want to get some practice in.

Mixed in with the arty farty stuff are some crackers!

Brands is a good place to offer a variety of shooting options in, so should be a great place for you to get some practice in. Happy to help you with any pointers I may be able to give, feel free to give me a shout if you see me over the weekend.

Thanks Mike, the arty farty ones are the crackers as we both know ;) - Thank you though, was a great challenge to shoot.

If you've not been to Brands Hatch for a while, you'll notice that there has been some catch fencing put up on sections out on the Grand Prix loop, so its less good than it was. There are photo slots in some of the fencing. There are (not quite enough) slots in the fencing at the top of Druids and the infield section is mostly fence free. If the TV cameras aren't there, there is a big slot in the fence at Clearways.

Cheers Andrew, Ive not been in 22 or 21, but fencing has incrementally been building up there over the past few years. Still, I find it an interesting track to work at

3 and 8 are the stand out shots for me. I love the arty shots - I think it is so much more interesting that lots of shots of a car driving past.

Nice.....very nice and a great opportunity. Loving 1, 3 and 8.

Yes, it was all very surreal. Amazing experience though, thank you

There's plenty of opportunity to shoot fairly standard type shots in that setting but I wanted to try and use the opportunity of shooting in a street circuit setting to try and get some more creative stuff as well. Glad you like them, thank you

Fantastic shots, I love all of them! Very jealous, Monaco is on my must-attend F1 list... it's not looking likely in the foreseeable future though.

I've got a ticket for Cameraworld Live at Brands Hatch next month... somehow I don't think it will be so glamorous! :D

Absolutely love these shots. The subjects are great and you've done an excellent job with the compositions too, my favourite being no.7 the rear end shot which feels like you're right in the thick of it,

Thank you, Brands is a great circuit to shoot at, and offers a lot of possibilities, I'm sure you'll have a great time.
Monaco is a great circuit to spectate at, maybe you need to move quick before they potentially drop it off the calendar!

Thanks very much, really appreciate it. 7 up in Casino Square was a great place to shoot, I had to try and factor those roadsigns in to a shot somehow. Cheers

Absolutely incredible work as always. Can't pick a favourite as they're all excellent.

Fantastic set. Love the retro processing and some of the angles to show the venue are really brilliant. Hairpin shot is probably my favourite
Thank you, it was a fun challenge to shoot there, definitely looking forward to returning in 2024. The hairpin shot was one I had in mind before going, was lucky enough to get access to the roof terrace of the Fairmont to give it a go.

Matty, these are just perfect, a joy to see. Well done and thanks for posting :D
