Mono Conversion

Hi all,

I'm quite new to this lark and started shooting in June this year.

I have a bit of a thing for mono images, but to date I have really just been playing about with the sliders in the channel mixer when converting, with no real idea what effect I'm trying to achieve. Any advice on mono conversion would be much appreciated.

I realise it's quite a subjective thing.

One thing i can tell you, is that for mono to work there has to be contrasting light, if you want the shot to have any real impact. You have to think about the light when you're shooting, visualise the shot in mono. So above all else understand the light

There's some great plug-in i have the best available, but think about the light is the best advice i can give you
