Taken with a Canon 550D, 80-400mm lens, @ F5.6, Iso 100, single frame on a Manfrotto Tripod, PS to add a little colour..

Another good illustration of why the Moon is usually better when not full - the crater lips' shadows show well. Nod's law, it'll be cloudy tonight (full) so I won't be able to get a shot to show the difference even a day can make. I got a few 1/2 decent shots last night using a 70-300 VR on a 1 series body (2.7x crop factor so FoV 35mm EG = 810.)

That is a nice shot with good detail.

I`ve tried the moon a few times myself, it is amazing the difference a day makes indeed and a massive difference between full and half moon too as said.

I must try some "moonage" again soon...

nice shot, I usually convert my images of the moon to b&w and add some contrast and clarity, but that is my personal taste, I would have maybe shot it at f8 to get the best out the lens

I've never tried converting to black and white so will have to try. I shoot at f8 also with 200 shutter speed.
