More Red Arrows (cropping advice especially please!)

Hi all, I was at Duxford last week (only been to a couple of airshows with the camera) and came away with some decent stuff of the Red Arrows in particular. I'd appreciate some feedback on cropping though - below are two versions of the same shot, first straight out of the camera and second after I'd cropped and rotated it:

I think I prefer the 2nd shot although I'm not sure if I've overdone the crop in the 2nd image - there were only 8 flying that day btw, I haven't lost one

I prefer the space around the first, but would be inclined to try and have them heading in to the shot from the bottom right hand corner so that they have space to fly in to whilst leaving as much space as possible toward the top left.
