I fiddled a little with it as avoiding clearing up the kitchen...
It seemed a little flat, so fiddled with levels/brightness/contrast. Bit of cloning here and there (rather crudely done). Bit of sharpening...also altered the cropping a bit to make him more of the focus than he seemed to me.
But very possibly not to your taste..!
(don't know about the snapshot thing, I think sometimes the best shots are just that anyway!)
Well, I have to say that the edit is very good, it gives a lot more joy to the shot.
The only other thing that i would like to say is: Mum that is the most loving look anyone could hope for and to set your mind at rest, He will grow out of that.

I will have a go at something similar, I think you've got the levels just right with that. Actually the shot is really sharp from the original, I find PSE occasionally makes soft exports and this is one of them.
