Which also makes it dufficult to photograph his face too, always seems to come out dark.
I have plentyof photos of him. But many need processing to lighten the face a little.

I've been photographing my parents dog (English Setter) recently and I've been finding it difficult to get it light enough. One trick I have learnt is to take a test-shot in Tv at a fast shutter to freeze the dog (dogs don't like to stay still!!) and then either put the camera in manual and adjust the ISO or aperture, or adjust the exposure compensation to brighten it up.
With regards to your image there, I would crop out the fridge and turn the photo from landscape to portrate. I hope that helps.

I can't count the photos I've missed as my mutt won't sit still. So like this of Alfie the dogs great, the background not so, but you have to grab the photo when you can. I think Photoshop could sort the background, but I'm not competent with it. Love the pic though.
