My cat and my new nifty fifty

I treated myself to a new canon 50mm f/1.8 lens over the weekend, and here are some trial shots of my cat.

Comments and critique welcomed as this is a new hobby for me and it can only make me better.

Lovely cat, good to have a moderately co-operative model on which to practise

#1 & 3 would be much better with the ears tips included. I would also suggest a little more sharpening in your processing, maybe limited to the face area?

Personally I prefer the pose in #1 and of course the tongue in #3 makes that super cute

I agree about the ears in 1 & 3.

All of the shots are straight from the camera with no processing, but once Lightroom arrives I'll try what you've suggested.
