The lighting really isn't working in this shot. Was it shot next to a window with sunlight pouring in? It's caused the highlights to blow out and has cast a very strong shadow. The cat is nice and sharp with lots of crisp detail but the background of the fish tank is very distracting. All just IMO of course

I was being pestered by a fatter version of that cat at a garden centre today. Love the eye contact though (even with the fish at the back). Its great for a first attempt though
