Be kind , my first ones :bonk:

No need to be kind Neil ... ... because they are very good for your first ever shots ... (y)

The one thing to remember, with pretty much anything that has them, is to focus on the eyes ... ;) ... the rest will take care of itself more or less ...

One other thing, if you can is to have a bit more room to the front of the subject rather than behind for it to 'look' or 'move' into ... :D

Well done though ... (y)

:p

Second is pretty good-but wise words of wisdom from Venomator :)

Hi Neil (y)

Good first attempt of a nice female house sparrow. don't know what camera your using, I always use centre spot metering for birds then you can concentrate on the eye, not just birds, almost any animal, you can always crop to get the shot you wanted, birds are hard to capture, look forward to seeing more.

Thanks all!

Davenjulie i was using Evaluative Metering , so i should use Center-Weighted Average metering for animals?
