:) It's a good Friday indeed and I'm extremely happy to have captured my first Robin.
I spent over an hour watching him and trying to get a shot.
My first efforts were much too distant for my 55mm, but as time went on, I seemed to gain his trust and he came within range...

Thanks for looking,

Anthony

You've done well there with a 55mm lens. (y)

:)Thanks very much, it was all down to patience and more than a little bit of luck.
I'm buying a 70-300mm next week and I just can't wait...I really do love the thrill of tryng to capture birds.

 well done

:) Thanks again for the comments all.
There really is something quite endearing about these little birds.
So very common, but still wonderful to spot.
There were quite a few Coal & Blue Tits around about today and although not as bold as the Robin, I think I would have had a chance of a half decent capture.
It's funny because as soon as the Robin showed, I lost all interest in anything else and became obssesed the red brested one :D

I'm kinda hoping for snow tonight now...

Great first robin shot  This bird photography is very addictive  Good luck with your new lens when it arrives (y)

Nicely done Busby, your sure to get some great results with your new lens.

Yep, you've done ever so well to get that Robin with a 55mm at that distance. If it wasn't so cold/snowy, I'd be sat in my garden trying to capture the local wildlife. Roll on summer ;)
