My Son Matt

My son Matt doesn't like sitting but I managed to get this of him back in 2007. Portrait isn't one of my strengths and C&C would be appreciated. I cloned out some background distractions from the left of the shot and did a selective sharpening on his eyes.

I like the shot
Very natural - good lighting.
A couple of points...
I don't know how important the badge is but I would crop about 20% off the bottom and maybe some off the side to bring it back to a 'portrait' shape.
I would also prefer a tad more above his head.

Kids this age are always difficult to photograph.

Here's a few tips:

1. Get him to stick his tongue out in and out as fast as he can three times. Wait for him to finish THEN take your shot - it's all in the timing!

2. Get him to say "scooby-doo" - bet he smiles when he does it
