Hi guys,

Looking to buy my first lightstand, brolly and adapter to try my hand at a bit of OCF.

Got about £100 to spend and might get myself some FITP triggers once I have got to grips with the Nikon CLS.

I will be mostly portrait stuff I'll be doing.

Can anyone confirm whether the following would be a good setup please and recommend the best brolly of the two and the best stand of the two and the major differences they have as I am struggling to see for myself.

Cheers

Can you not just get that stuff from FITP?

I bought similar bits, and was happy with the stuff - althought i've not had the chance to use it properly yet :(

Last time I looked (2 weeks ago or so) FITP didnt have too much stuff in or I would have gladly taken that option.

On my iphone now so struggling to quickly navigate the site and have a look.

Ahh, ok, he may have limited stock then! :(

The lightstands you can get from amazon and 7dayshop (they're the konig ones)

Anyone from the night shift have any advice?

Cheers

One more try for any advice before I bite the bullet and make a purchase,

Hey Dan,

Sorry, just seen this!! Been away all weekend...

If I were you, I would go for the shoot through umbrella -yes you lose a tiny amount when you bounce it as it isn't a 'solid' silver, but it will be plenty good enough for you (mine is for me).

In terms of stands, you can spend as little or as much as you like on them - I have 4 bowens light stands that are built like brick outhouses, they have taken a battering and still going strong - but they are heavy.

For a lot of my studd, especially only working with the Speedlights and Umbrellas - I have something like these - Ebay Stands - they are so cheap that you can always get more should the worst happen to them and mine are also really light so is actually no bother carrying them around.

Hope this helps any, am back now for the week, so feel free to pm me.

Paul
