Probably been asked many times but my search doesn't come up with an answer.
Thinking about buying a D850 so what is the suggested shutter life of this camera?

Is it about 100,000 before I need to be worried about pressing the shutter?

Thanks for the help or pointing me in the right direction.

200,000

Life expectancy is not an exact figure as it’s an average expected life span of many cameras. Some may fail before 100k, others may go on beyond 100k. Many cameras will never get close to the 100k figure. Nikon won’t replace a shutter because it failed below the average life expectancy.

Regarding buying a higher shutter count camera it really depends on the price. Like cars their value depreciates with ‘mileage’. If you want piece of mind go with the lowest shutter count you can afford. Nothing to say the high shutter count camera won’t outlast the lower shutter count camera. The overall condition of the camera likely gives a better indication of the use it’s had.
