Hi,
Does anyone know if this lens is good for sports photography? Is the largest aperture of f4 large enough for the low light of a football stadium, for example?
Thanks

How much do you have to Spend, as Im looking at the £299 for the 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED VR

It's a bit slow aperture wise to be honest as you'll typically be wanting the longer end where it's only 5.6 so you'll be needing big ISOs to keep the shutter speed up in low light. You mention football, what where you thinking of shooting? Bear in mind most professional football matches won't permit DSLR photography for casual shooters.

Thank you, I was thinking of anywhere that is floodlit as this would cause a decrease in the light available

On the description it says that the highest aperture is f4

Its f/4-5.6, meaning at its longest zoom it will be f/5.6. Personally I don't think it will cut it even in a brightly lit stadium. Plus 200mm isn't that long and you'll be very limited to what you can actually shoot, unless the players are right on the sideline next to you, you ant get much.
